Daily Options Report: Twitter Eats World

  • verbotenstylen · 8 months ago
"As to why anyone would want to share a hot trade idea with the entire world in the first place, Mr. Najarian throws his hands up. “In a lot of cases, I don’t know why,” he says. “It’s a way of pounding their chests or being experts, I guess.”"

LMAO! Wait, Najarian doesn't understand why anyone would want to publicly shout of their trades to anyone who will listen?!? Yeah, what a bunch of douches, trying to be all expert-like.

TOS is doing this too by the way...

No one backing my idea that new cars should have twitter built into the dashboards we can tweet while driving.
  • Andrew · 8 months ago
You can always mount your cell phone to the dashboard...

I think there is actually some car that you can plug in your phone in the car charger and you can text by talking into it. What could possibly go wrong?

Maybe that's what GM should do to get back in the game...since I think their last automotive innovation was to have headlights that stay on all the time...

Covestor is way better at this (in theory; I haven't tried them) in that it not only supports online chest pounding, it also lets people tag along and execute your trades alongside you, paying you fees for the privilege.

Of course there's the risk that some entity will abuse social investing platforms to get people to take the opposite side of its trades, but first covestor has to get popular enough for abuse to be profitable.

Anyway, I agree with a recent guest commentator on Naked Capitalism who said radical financial transparency is needed, and Twitter integration is baby steps in that direction.

interesting, never knew that about covestor.

I'm with TImothy Sykes on this . . . If you set yourself up as an expert, like Najarian, and you're selling picks, then you really shouldn't be listened to unless your record is documented by something like Covestor. I don't know Najarian's record, so I don't want to pick on them, but I think this would shut down plenty of sites . . .

I mean Najerian has his stuff out there, and he certainly knows the options game. But on most others, yup, what Tim said. Anyone can say what they want about Tim, but he's like the most open guy with what he's doing. So yes, lots of self-described experts are anything but, mainly these serial bottom callers on TV.
